MHA Consulting, in partnership with Kroll, has been engaged by a county-level government organization to conduct a series of tabletop exercises designed to strengthen its Business Continuity Management (BCM) program.

Local governments provide critical services to residents, and IT continuity is essential to ensuring those services remain available in times of disruption. Through a structured series of exercises, MHA Consulting will help county teams test their plans, evaluate response capabilities, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Over the next 12 months, MHA will conduct 4–5 tabletop exercises with IT teams, each focusing on realistic disruption scenarios. The engagement will cover scenario development, exercise planning, facilitation, and post-exercise reporting with detailed observations and recommendations.

“Preparedness is about practice as much as planning,” said Michael Herrera, CEO of MHA Consulting. “These exercises give IT leaders the opportunity to test their response strategies, validate assumptions, and build the confidence to keep essential services running when residents need them most.”

The engagement will culminate in a tested and documented framework that improves operational resilience, ensures lessons are captured, and helps the county government strengthen continuity for the future.
