Paying it forward and helping the children in our community.

In 2004, MHA CEO Michael Herrera created the Michael Herrera Family Foundation in memory of his father, the late Fred Herrera, to support needy school-aged children.

The charity was founded on the simple belief of “paying it forward” through the allocation of resources and funds to change children’s lives in a positive way.

What started out as simply purchasing school supplies at the beginning of each school year has expanded to ten different programs.

The Michael Herrera Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID 46-2661399), efficiently uses it donations and ensures close to 100% of contributions go to the children.

Rachel Herrera
Scholarship
Provides a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per year for 4
years) to deserving female entering college.
Fred Herrera
Scholarship
Provides a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per year for 4
years) to deserving male entering college.

Provides a $8,000 scholarship to deserving student
entering trade school.
