MHA Consulting to Strengthen Cyber Resilience for Regional Energy Provider

MHA Consulting, in partnership with Kroll,  has been engaged by a regional energy provider to develop crisis communication templates tailored for cyber incidents, enhancing its ability to respond effectively to disruptions.

As critical infrastructure operators, energy providers face heightened risks from cyber threats. Beyond technical recovery, organizations must ensure clear and timely communication with employees, customers, regulators, and the public. MHA Consulting’s work will equip the provider with communication tools that reduce confusion, support rapid response, and maintain trust during cyber events.

The engagement will include interviews with IT leaders, a review of the organization’s current incident response and communications policies, and the development of both internal and external crisis communication templates. Deliverables will include templates for inclusion in the Cyber Incident Response Plan (IRP) and a sample set of 5–10 external communication templates designed for cyber event scenarios.

“Resilience isn’t just about restoring systems—it’s about making sure the right messages reach the right people at the right time,” said Michael Herrera, CEO of MHA Consulting. “By strengthening crisis communication planning, this organization will improve its ability to protect operations, reassure stakeholders, and respond with confidence during cyber disruptions.”

The project will culminate in a tailored crisis communication framework that supports the provider’s Cyber IRP and reinforces its enterprise-level crisis and communications plan.
