MHA Consulting has been selected by a global consumer packaged goods company for a new [crisis management consulting](https://mha-it.com/crisis-management) engagement focused on enterprise crisis response plan review and advisory support. The work is designed to strengthen how the holding company escalates, coordinates, and supports significant events that exceed an operating company’s ability to manage independently or create broader enterprise implications.

For diversified organizations with multiple operating companies, crisis response becomes more complex when an incident crosses organizational boundaries or requires enterprise-level support. Clear activation criteria, defined decision-making authority, coordinated communications, and consistent reporting help leadership determine when an issue should remain at the operating-company level and when broader enterprise involvement is required.

Through this engagement, MHA Consulting will review the organization’s existing Business Crisis Guidance Plan and assess how effectively it supports enterprise-level escalation and coordination. The review will compare the plan against industry standards, guidelines, and best practices while documenting findings and identifying opportunities to improve its structure, content, and usability..

The work will also address key elements of enterprise crisis response, including activation criteria, escalation and decision-making processes, holding-company and operating-company roles, enterprise communications and stakeholder management, executive and board reporting, and return-to-normal considerations. These components will inform a high-level Enterprise Response Plan shell that the organization can complete and refine with MHA Consulting’s guidance.

The engagement is intended to clarify when an event should remain at the operating-company level and when enterprise escalation and support are required. By defining that transition more clearly, the organization can improve coordination, communication, and executive decision-making across its broader operating structure.
